The Martian

In this novel The Martian I observed and analyzed the unique situation of Mark Watney of being stranded on Mars from a terrible sandstorm while his crew flew off. I think in my opinion the reader is engaged and interested all the way through since most of it is based on Mark and his experience on surviving on Mars while trying to find a way back home to Earth. What I analyzed from this book was how Mark used some farming techniques from Earth on Mars that works and ensures his survival for a while. The book makes the reader think about how he/she would survive if he/she was in Mark’s situation and it creates a way of problem solving. The problem solving would relate to his survival and communication with NASA but the same would relate to the reader if the reader though about how he/she would survive on their own in the wild but even another planet to myself is far fetched for survival. Also my idea with this book as an observation would be how there is a sense of strategy with the sur

Star Wars A New Hope

What I found interesting with Star Wars A New Hope is how the story can relate in a way to society in my opinion. The galactic empire in the story would be in my opinion relatable to a corrupted society that is turned into a dystopia that rules over the people. On the other hand the rebel alliance in society from the reader’s point of view would be the people that would resist against a corrupt government that rules with absolute power and authority. As I observe Star Wars more and more it dives deep into who can be good or bad in society and what defines a person for what he/she stands for. I observed that the rebels stand for freedom and democracy while the empire stands for control and power. In this story it revolves around Luke Skywalker as a beacon of hope and with the sith lord Darth Vader being the antagonist  they both fight for opposite reasons. I analyzed that Luke represents himself as a leader of democracy and freedom while Vader represents himself as a tyrant of tyranny.

Coraline

What I observed from the novel of Coraline I found it interesting with both environments and worlds within the story. I observed that this novel empathizes two realities and one is better than the other with more caring and loving parents that are fake parents along with people and creatures. One main part of this novel that I analyzed was the precise and exact differences between both worlds in. One was full of happiness and life while the other was more mediocre and sad. Based on those observations I believe Coraline as a character changes throughout the story and with her and her environment is leaves a message to the reader about what’s more important and impactful in this universe. My ideas and observations with some parts of the book is when she views and explores various areas that differ from both realities and how it impacts her character along with how the reader sees how it can be relative or more impactful in life. This story makes the reader think outside the box on two d

Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is unique to me in every way with how the story unfolds. Throughout the novel I observed many things with how the story focuses on magic, wizards, and Hogwarts academy along with Harry Potter’s story. I observed how students in Hogwarts were divided into four separate classes and in the novel it depicts the what type of student you are and how that class affects others in good or bad ways. I found it as the reader to be relatable to society in my opinion since society has different types of organizations and groups of people doing their jobs. I found that to be interesting with that part of the novel and what each class would represent for the story and for Harry Potter. Also I was interested in the idea of Voldemort's intentions and ways of ruining Harry Potter. As the reader Harry tries to figure out who killed his parents but Voldemort impacts him in many ways and throughout the story I found this story to revolve around the idea of a hero’

The Hobbit

This story The Hobbit is my favorite story because the story has so many points of views with so many characters. From my point of view I feel like this story unwraps nicely with the hero's journey fully in mind when Tolkien wrote this story. The main topic I'll focus on with The Hobbit is Bilbo's journey throughout the entire book and how he was a different hobbit that I think was shy and timid in the beginning but in the end was a wise and heroic hero. From my point of view Bilbo should have been treated like an equal in the company of the dwarves from the very start but the dwarves underestimated Bilbo greatly. Some of the dwarves looked down upon him because he was timid and scared to fight yet Bilbo saves them time and time again which is why in this story he should be appreciated more and all the way through for what Bilbo goes through physically and emotionally with his company. When he is with Thorin Oakenshield he doubts Bilbo but in my opinion he shouldn’t doubt
